Gaun Yin, one of the revered Bodhisat figures in Mahayanna Buddhism, is widely known in india as the Awalokitaesuan Bodhisat and may appear in differrent forms and postures, depending on the time and occasion. One of the forms is the female figure of the Guan Yin Bodhisat that is well respected in China and the countries that observe the Doctrine of the Mahayanna Buddhism. The name varies according to the locale; for example, some places in China call her Guan Yin or Guan In and she is known as Guan Non in Japan.
