His Majesty the King established the Or Sor (Or Sor is the initial of the Amphonstan Throne Hall, where the first broadcast was made) Radio Station in 1952 as a medium for broadcasting news of special events or occurrences important to the public. Some of these events where the Polio epidemic of 1952, the cholera of 1958 and the devastating storm that hit the Talumphook Peninsula in 1962. His Majesty used the radio station as a way of helping those who had suffered and this was the seeds of the Ratchaprachanukroh Foundation. Now the station continues its regular broadcasts on AM 1332 KHz and FM 104 MHz from Tuesday to Saturdays, 10.30 - 12.00 and 16.00 - 19.00, on Sundays from 9.00 - 12.00 and the station is closed on Mondays.
