     To commemorate the 12th Anniversary of the Office of the Election Commission of Thailand and to create the public trust by honest, transperent and fair performance

     On June 9th, 1998, the Office of the Election Commission of Thailand was established. It was the day when the Constitutional Supplementary Act on the Election Commission, B.E. 2541(1998) was announced in the Government Gazzette, resulting in the inauguration of the Office of the Election Commission of Thailand during the reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
     According to the Constitution, the Office of the Election Commission is an independent orgarnization. It is respondsible for running the general activities of the Election Commission and the Registrar of Political Parties. Its other responsibilities include encouraging the general public's partcipation in politics, urging the general public to make use of the their right to vote with honesty, transparency and justice, as well as creating trust in the public so that it will execute its responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution, which represents the highest law of the country.

     The picture of placing a ballot paper inside a ballot box illustrates crucial mission of the Election Commission to conduct honest and fair elections whereas the picture of the Democracy Monument symbolizes the Constitution which is the supreme law of the country providing authorities and duties to the Election Commission. These images are under the Thai flag which represents the assurance that the work of the Election Commission must be performed for benefit of the nation.
