Thailand Post will introduce a 2005 floral collection, which comprises of four plants.
1. Beaumontia murtonii Craib or Hiranyika in Apocynaceae family. It is a vine-shape plant. Its white flower blossom on the end of branch with mild fragrance. It usually blossoms in December to February period.
2. Hibiscus mutabilis L. or Cotton Rose (Puttan) in Malvaceae family. It is an evergreen, 6-7 feet tall, medium-size shrub. It blossom throughout the year. Its flower blossom white at dawn, turn pink in the late morning, become deep pink in the afternoon before dying in the evening.
3. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L. or Shoe Flower (Chaba) in Malvaceae family. It is symbolic flower of Pattani Province. It is a small shrub and its flowers come in various colors, such as red, pink, white, orange. It has single, jagged, and pointy leaves.
4. Cochlospermum religiosum (L) Alston or Yellow Cotton Tree (Supannika) in Bixaceae (Cochlospermaceae) family. It is symbolic flower of Nakorn Nayok, Burirum, Saraburi, Supanburi, and Uthai Thani Provinces. It is deciduous, 7-15-meters tall tree. Its yellow flowers usually blossoms on the end of branch only in December to March period.
