Chaiwattanaram Temple, Ayutthaya, was built by the royal command of King Prasatthong of Ayhuthaya dynasty. This monastery is located on the west bank of Chaophraya River. It was also used as a royal cremotion site for Prince Thammathibet, the great poet of Ayutthaya period and Princess Sangwal, who was sentenced to death during the reign of King Barommakot. Presently, this monastery is abandoned.
