Design1 : The Gold Brocade Hat, a hat made of golden brocade, is cylinrical in shape with a broad brim. Its back is decorated with a traditional gold minor crown or the Phra Kiew Yod. The border of the hat has a floral garland attached. The Krajung ornament on the left rim is decorated with a gold feature with the Karawake bird's features attached. This kind of hat is for a king only.
Design 2 : The Felt Hat is a hat made of suede of various colour according to the day the colour represents. It is cylindrical in shape with a broad brim, the left side of which is rolled up. The back is decorated with a traditional gold minor crown or Phra Kiew Yod. The border of the hat has a floral garland attached. The Krajung ornament on the left rim is decorated with a gold feature with the Karawake bird's features attached. The hat is adorned with precious gems according to the rank of the wearer. For instance, a red-coloured gem is for a king and yellow for members of the royal family of Somdetch Chao Fah (His Royal Highness) rank.
Design 3 : The Helmet for Battle was created by the royal order of King Buddha Yodfah Chukalok. It is made in imitation of the hat worn by King Naruesuan during his combat on the elephant back with Phra Maha Uparaja. The hat was lost after the Fall of Ayuthaya. This new hat is made of woven bamboo strips in the shape of a winter melon cut in a straight direction. Its brim is attached with a surrounding flap and its inside and outside painted with glossy black lacquer. The crown has a strong lining. The outside is made of strong materials to protect the wearer from arms. There is a space between the lining and the outside part of the crown for ventilation. The rim is decorated with one Buddha figurine in the attitude of Forgiving. Later, twenty-one Buddha figurines in the attitude of Meditation, which were presented to King Vajiravudh, were placed around the hat's rim.
Design 4 : The Grand Diamond Hat is a hat made of black suede in the shape of a citrus fruit cut in a straight direction, with the brim rolled up into a scroll. It is decorated with diamonds in the style of a tiara. The top is decorated with round diamonds, flanked on both sides with diamonds in an arabesque design and below the tiara is a diamond decoration in a floral motif.
