The Centenary of the Fine Arts Department
The Fine Arts Department originated from the Department of the Ten Artisan Groups. Nowadays, it is the national work unit is responsible for the protection, conservation and revival of the country's arts and culture, as well as for maintaining the practices and traditions of the royal and state ceremonies so as to preserve the national identity. Its duties also include the creation, transmission and dissemination of the country's artistic and cultural heritages. King Vajiravudh had the Department of Fine Arts established on March 27th, 1911.
