Making Upcountry Kids Happy and Making Them SmiIe
Since 1980, Her RoyaI Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has been invoIved
with the deveIopment of chiIdren, youth and peopIe in remote areas seeking to improve their quality of life.
Her initiatives in the deveIopment of chiIdren and youth in remote areas were inspired by Their Majesties the King's and Queen's visits to their subjects in rural and rugged areas of all parts of the country. They found that a large number of these people lived in hardship, particularly children and youth who lacked a chance of education. Her royal Highness's children and youth development project is based on the "sufficiency economy," emphasizing children and youth as the centre of the development and using education as its base.
Therefore, to glorify Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and to present gratitude towards H.R.H.s benevolences along three decades of the Development Project for Children and Youth in Remote Areas, Thailand Post would issued this commemorative stamp.
