Better to die than lie
King Rama VI founded the "Wild Tiger Corps" on 6 May 1911 to train government officials and civillians on military drills with the conviction that scout training would instill within these people a sense of discipline and loyalty to the country, Buddhism and the monarchy. Two months after founding the "Wild Tiger Corps" King Rama VI established the Thai scouting organization on 1 July 1911 and assigned it the motto of "Better to die than lie".
