Government Savings Bank Stamp in Memoriam of Four Reigns
King Vajiravudh had set aside his personal funds to set up Savings Bank 1913 to provide financial services to the public. The Savings Bank has been promoted and developed by the successive kings and governments. The organization has been evolved tremendously and existed in the Thai society until present day.
To mark the occasion of the 99th year anniversary of the Government Savings Bank (GSB), Thailand Post Co., Ltd. has issued a commemorative stamp collection titled "GSB Stamp in Memoriam of Four Reigns". The stamp depicts portrait of H.M. King Vajiravudh (Rama IX), H.M. King Prajadhipok (Rama VII), H.M. King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII) and H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) with office of the GSB in each era as background. The purpose is to illustrate evolution of the GSB from the past to present and mark the 99th year anniversary of the bank.
