80 Years of the Office of the Prime Minister
The Office of the Prime Minister has been officially established on December 9, 1933 in accordance with the Ministry, Bureau and Department Restructuring Act B.E. 2476. In this regard, six organizations have been assigned under the Office including the Secretariat of the Prime Minister, the Secretariat of the Cabinet, Juridical Council, the Civil Service Commission, State Audit Commission and Public Relations Office which changed its name to Cabinet Office during January 1, 1954 to February 14, 1959.
Inauguration Day of the Office of the Prime Minister was not on December 9, 1993 which was the date that the office was officially set up. Nontheless, June 28, 1932, which was the day that the first Priminister of Thailand assumed his positioned, was considered as the starting date of the operation of thr organizations related to the work of Prime Minister. The date was four days after the change in administrative system from Absolute Monarchy on June 24 that same year.
